Static Performance Art Mime Show Set To Music
‘Dysfunctional misfits, Smudge & Futter weave a bizarre tapestry of surrealist mime, slapstick and old-fashioned sideshow chic, with a verve and panache rarely seen this side of a cucumber sandwich !’
The mesmifying Stupendo having unexpectedly expired in a tragic cup and ball accident has left Smudge and Futter potentially destitute. Concluding that the show must go on, the duo stretch their skills well beyond their abilities by each climbing a rung of the performance ladder - Smudge becomes magician, and Futter becomes his assistant. With no time for a funeral Stupendo and his coffin are kept for good luck.
Surreal mayhem ensues as Futter's stubbly head requires a clean shave with a cheese grater to allow him to slip into Smudges tight lycra costume; and smudge's less than perceptive interpretation of the late Stupendo's conjuring miracles becomes all too apparent !
Amidst their dysfunctional relationship of passing the buck of blame, the amplified coffin powers down. Fortuitously on hand is Smudge's latest invention - "The Comedy Extractor", which quickly finds its place as a universal transformer by converting pure comic energy into electricity to recharge the coffin. And so it is that the vision of Futter desperately trying not to fall head first into a pink blamange as Smudge throws banana skins at his running feet, is sucked into the extractor and converted into raw electricity in order
to save the day!

An eclectic soundtrack accompanies the show, ranging from the contemporary (Goldfrapp) to the bizarre (German Wurlitzer fairground organs), to the 1970's world of the Hammond organ. The coffin has its own high quality 12v PA system, and the extractor uses complex electronic wizardry to produce waves of electric blue extractor lighting. The entire show is fully mobile on wheels, and can be easily set up and taken down in five minutes - although a broom may be required by a handy helper !
This a show suitable for all the family, and all venues - street, festival, & cabaret
Running time - approximately 25 minutes excluding set-up / take down, and 3 shows a day.
